The fruit in the Napa Valley Cabernet Franc was specially selected from the Peju organically frown Rutherford Vineyard and sustainbaly farmed Persephone Vineyard.  From the crush pad into the cellar, the winemaker then aged the fruit for 18 months in the finest French and American Oak barrels to impart distinctive flavors and provide sound tannin structure. 

The 2007 Cabernet Franc was lush garnet in appearance with hues of bright ruby in the glass.  Aromas of concentrated plum mingled with spice, red currant, vanilla, and violet awakens the nose.  Full bodied and concentrated on the palate with abundant layers of rich plum, blackberry pie, espresso bean, and hints of anise, fresh herbs and white pepper that give way to a soft, luxurious finish.

Varietal Composition: 75% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon

Peju was founded in 1982 by husband and wife, Anthony and Herta Peju.  Anthony and Herta had two daughters Lisa and Ariana who have now joined the family business.  Family owned and operated, the winery is located in the heart of Napa Valley, in Rutherford.  Their wine is produced from 2 main designated vineyards: HB Vineyard and Peresphone Vineyard.  Peju currently produces 35,000 cases annually and is best known for their Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
