Mouthwatering fruit compote in the long, lingering finish

Share this page:

The Season
The 2008 vintage began with severe spring frost, and fruit set was down by as much as 30% in some areas.  Smaller clusters and berries were also the norm, resulting in fruit with greater concentration.  More intense than its predecessor, this vintage is richly structured and has greather depth.  The wines are rich and powerful, and great potential for aging.

The Process
Conn Creek's flagship wine, Anthology, is a classic Bordeaux blend with a Napa twist.  The grapes are carefully selected from 45 separate vineyards in Napa, pruning for the best clusters for the blend, then aged in 40% new French Oak for 20 months.

The Experience
Berries, violets, allspice and freshly baked pastry unite in an offering reminiscent of berry pie.The aromatic potpourri prominently features bright cherry flavors and sandalwood-tinged cocoa spice. Handsomely sculptured tannins showcase the mouthwatering fruit compote in the long, lingering finish.

Conn Creek is a boutique winery on the Silverado Trail in the Rutherford District.  For nearly 40 years, the winery has focused on Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux styled wines.  In keeping with its heritage, Conn Creek secures grapes from nearly all of Napa Valley’s renowned sub-appellations, sourcing from vineyards – including Bill and Kathy’s Collins Holystone Vineyard in St. Helena – that are proven to grow exceptional grapes that produce wines of character and expression. It’s an approach that captures the “Best of Napa Valley” and provides winemaker Mike McGrath with an unparalled palette from which to blend each wine and vintage. Through these diverse sites and regions, we explore the differences between Napa Valley’s sub-appellations as well as the ways in which they complement one another.
